Merulius tremellosus Fr. Galllertfleischiger Fältling. Fruit body resupinate but more often forming small brackets; the resupinate form spreading radially and flowing into each other, margin covered in silky radiating fibres, the bracket form 1–5cm across, thin, flexible, semicircular and often tiered, margin hairy, upper surface white and hairy. Fertile or lower side orange-buff or pinkish appearing almost poroid. Flesh whitish, thin, gelatinous. Spores hyaline, sausage-shaped, 4–4.5 x 1–1.5um. Habitat on stumps or fallen branches of deciduous, less frequently coniferous, wood. Season autumn to spring. Occasional. Not edible. Distribution, America and Europe.
